Should the government implement the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act reforms as planned?
The government has published a delivery plan for the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act, which introduces regional care cooperatives, tighter regulation of children’s homes, and earlier family support. The reforms are backed by £2.4 billion for the Families First Partnership Programme, £245 million for legislative commitments, and £560 million in capital funding. Children and Families Minister Josh MacAlister described the Act as a historic overhaul of England’s children’s social care system.
