Terms of Use

refnation.uk is operated by Refnation Ltd (“refnation”, “we”), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17472835, with its registered office at 13 West Marsh Close, Grimsby, England, DN31 2FF. These terms are an agreement between you and Refnation Ltd.

You must be aged 16 or over and resident in the United Kingdom to create an account on refnation. By registering, you confirm that this is the case.

You agree not to:

• Submit referendums that are hateful, discriminatory, or designed to harass
• Create multiple accounts to manipulate results
• Use the platform to spread deliberate misinformation
• Attempt to access, alter, or disrupt the platform's systems

All referendum questions pass through an automated scope and quality check before publication. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms or that we determine, at our sole discretion, is harmful to the platform or its users.

Results on refnation are not official referendums. They carry no legal weight and do not compel any government, party, or institution to act. We are an independent platform providing a space for public opinion.

Pro is optional. It is a monthly membership, paid by card through Stripe on the website or through Google Play in our Android app: £3 a month. Founding supporters, who joined by the end of Sunday 18 October 2026 (UK time), chose their own amount from £3 a month and keep it. It gives you the Pro mark beside your name, Pro's features, and a title you can write yourself while your membership continues.

• Your membership renews each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your profile; you keep the mark until the end of the month you have paid for, and you will not be charged again.
• If you change your mind within 14 days of joining, email contact@refnation.uk and we will refund your first payment in full.
• If you join in the Android app, Google Play takes and renews the payment, and you cancel from your subscriptions in Google Play (your profile links there). Google Play's own terms apply to the payment; the 14-day refund above still applies, and we make it through Google Play.
• If we ever change the price of an existing membership or end the supporter scheme, we will tell you before your next payment.
• Founding numbers are only given to members who join by the end of Sunday 18 October 2026 (UK time). A founding number is yours for good: it is kept if you leave, and shows again if you rejoin. Founding supporters keep the amount they pay for as long as their membership continues.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Danger zone on your profile — see how to delete your account for what is removed and what stays. If you cannot sign in, email contact@refnation.uk.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your use of refnation shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

refnation is provided on an "as is" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, or availability of the platform. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for loss or damage arising from your use of the platform.
