Should the government review consultancy contracts in nine major departments?

The Public Accounts Committee found the government is unlikely to meet its £1.2bn consultancy savings target this year. In response, ministers have commissioned the Government Internal Audit Agency to examine 15 bodies with high consultancy spend. The review covers nine Whitehall departments and six arm’s-length bodies.
