Should the next Northern Ireland Executive adopt the CEF's infrastructure and housebuilding demands?
The Construction Employers Federation, representing 70% of the industry, published a manifesto ahead of the 2027 Stormont elections. It calls for 10,000 new homes per year for 15 years, a multi-year capital budget to 2030, an infrastructure levy, and a regional deal with Westminster for an infrastructure transformation fund. It also demands full funding for NI Water’s PC28 period and an investment strategy to 2050 covering projects such as the York Street Interchange and Casement Park.
