Should the UK Government publish the Defence Investment Plan on a day when Parliament is not sitting?
The UK Government plans to publish its long-delayed Defence Investment Plan on Friday 12 June, a day when Parliament traditionally does not sit. Speaker Lindsay Hoyle called the move an 'utter disgrace' and a 'kick in the face' to Parliament. The DIP is meant to provide numerical backing to the 2025 Strategic Defence Review and address a £28bn military funding shortfall.
