Should unused pensions be included in estates for inheritance tax from 2027?

In the 2024 Autumn Budget, the Chancellor announced that from 6 April 2027 unused pension savings may be included in estates for inheritance tax. Currently, unused pensions are typically paid tax-free to beneficiaries. The details of how the new rules will work have not yet been finalised.
