Was voting against the Mandelson vetting inquiry the right call?
Yes 50%No 50%2 votes cast
MPs voted 335-223 against a motion to refer PM Keir Starmer to the Commons Privileges Committee over claims he misled the House on Lord Mandelson's vetting for US ambassador. The motion, led by Kemi Badenoch and backed by Lib Dems, SNP, DUP and independents, questioned Starmer's statements on due process, developed vetting, and Foreign Office pressure. Mandelson took up the role in February 2025.
