How Windsor has changed

Windsor is a Conservative seat in the ballot box and a more awkward place on this platform: Jack Rankin holds it with a majority of 6,457, while his Commons record sits Right. Yet the platform’s readable voices do not settle there.

The nearest-party contest is not a Conservative defence but a Green–Reform UK deadlock. The lean itself is also a dead heat between Left and Right, a neat portrait of a seat whose national identity has not found a single home here.

There is no previous read to overturn, and the small, active platform makes this a signal rather than a verdict. Even so, the gap is striking: the MP’s record is firmly right, while the voices present are divided across the spectrum and attach themselves elsewhere.

Next week’s read could change quickly if another voice joins the platform, with either the ideological balance or the party contest capable of breaking open.
