Should the UK government create a cross-government board to rural-proof all national policies?
The UK government has published the Future of Rural England report, which proposes a cross-government board to monitor rural proofing across Whitehall departments. Rural England is home to 9.7 million people and over 500,000 businesses that contribute more than £259 billion annually to the economy. The report identifies priorities including economic growth, infrastructure, housing, skills, health, safety and connectivity.
