Was Brexit sabotaged by successive UK governments?
The 2016 referendum delivered a narrow vote to leave the EU. Successive Conservative governments under Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak negotiated withdrawal and the Trade and Cooperation Agreement but faced repeated parliamentary deadlock, internal party divisions and economic disruption. The UK formally left in January 2020 yet post-Brexit trade, borders and Northern Ireland issues continue to generate disputes and measurable costs in investment and growth.

No, it was a badly thought out plan to begin with. Had it been properly thought through, we would not have needed a referendum. Too many lies and propaganda involved.
Boris inherited a rotten hand, and he knew it. The Northern Ireland Bill would have completed the framework for a proper Brexit. That's why both he and Truss were driven out of office. A PM forced out over a piece of cake! Yet look what Starmer did without sanction. Sunak accepted the disastrous Windsor Framework, which put us back under the jurisdiction of the ECJ. The EU has 5 pillars. Free movement. Law. Trade. Fiscal Rules and Major policy. We are still tied to 4 of them.
As much as I voted Remain, I think we deserve what the majority voted for. Instead we got Theresa May who wasted years dithering, Boris who partitioned the UK with an Irish Sea border for a cheap slogan. Truss who blew up pensions chasing Singapore on Thames in her kamikaze run and Sunak who flooded the country with record visas to keep wages suppressed for corporates. Instead of using our freedoms to rebuild domestic labour and manufacturing, we got endless circus acts.
Yes, withdraw agreement not needed, aligning laws with EU in NI unnecessary, delays required to work on plan B, “assimilated laws”, “retained EU law”, programmes like Horizon Europe etc.
The Remoaners threw their toys out of their cots and cut their noses off to spite their own faces.
