Should transgender women be allowed to compete in women’s sport?

Most UK governing bodies now bar transgender women from women’s competitive categories in sports such as football, cricket, tennis, table tennis and netball following the 2025 Supreme Court ruling that sex in the Equality Act means biological sex. Sport England and other councils are reviewing transgender inclusion guidance with a report expected later in 2027. The policy shift aims to protect fairness and safety where male puberty confers lasting physical advantages.

I think the opinions in this poll are quite telling. There's a significant amount of support from those left-of-centre to allow Trans Women to compete in Women's sports— however, there aren't many brave / confident enough to step forward and explain their view. Why? Because they've been captured by an political ideology that will banish them for speaking out against policies of this nature. I'd argue they agree with the social norm, but are too scared to speak out.

After the turmoil that society had to go through to empower women and respect their rights, it is absolutely staggering that the 'yes' vote us as high as 17%. Absolute lunacy.

"What does it matter if she loses? What does it matter if she's hurt? She's just a woman and they aren't human beings, just support animals for men. Look how happy the man is. That's all that matters." Edited

Absolutely not. There are only two sexes male & female.. I think we all need to move on from this, surely even those in the trans community know that it is unfair & definitely unsporting.

No, no ,no. The day a transgender man (former women turned man) is capable of winning the world championship 100m, weightlifting, swimming or any strength based sport, then it can be considered as fair. Until then it isn't.

No let them be part of their own events.

A male athlete is (in general) taller, stronger, and has more muscle mass. This puts female athletes at a distinct disadvantage. You can see this at any school sports day where events aren't usually split by sex. If they want to complete then let them, but in a new category where they compete against other Trans athletes. I know this is a contentious issue but biological sex should take priority in sports. Otherwise you'll get more examples like the Olympic Boxing fiasco.

No, men should not be allowed to compete in women's sports. I would like to think that anyone who voted in favour of this ridiculous notion was simply confused by the language and didn't realise that "Transgender Women" is a pseudonym for "men".

This is a ridiculous notion. The physical advantages are known. They can compete in the male category or start their own events and compete against each other. Women's sport is for women. Biological women.

This will be an unfair advantage forth because they are men physiologically.
