Should the law require MPs to hold regular surgeries in their constituencies?
UK MPs decide individually whether, how often, and in what format to hold constituency surgeries, which allow local residents to raise issues for casework assistance. There is no legal requirement, though many hold them monthly or more, often by appointment for security reasons following the 2021 murder of MP David Amess. Petitions have repeatedly called for minimum standards to improve accountability and address concerns that some MPs are insufficiently accessible.

Surgeries can easily be held securely by appointment. If you aren’t willing to sit in a room and look the struggling constituents you represent in the eye, you shouldn't be drawing a public salary.
Obviously, otherwise how they can find out about issues in their constituency and represent it?
I'm actually surprised that theres no code of conduct setting a minimum already.
