Should North and North East Lincolnshire councils merge?

An independent evaluation examined merging North Lincolnshire Council and North East Lincolnshire Council. The study found the merger would require significant upfront investment and deliver only £3–5 million in annual savings. It concluded the costs would not be recovered within five years and could destabilise children’s and adults’ social care.
