Should the government stop awarding large consultancy contracts to meet its £1.2bn savings target?
The Home Office has awarded two global consultancies contracts worth up to £350 million for data and analytics services. In November 2024 the government promised new controls on consultancy use across the public sector to save £1.2 billion by 2026. A parliamentary committee has called for greater transparency on departmental spending and a digital workforce strategy.

The government should have sufficient expertise 'in-house' to undertake such reviews with impartiality. Where specific weaknesses within government exist then external contractors should be a temporary expedient and performance monitored
I've voted no here as a generalisation. Many consultants do great work, I work in construction and they are common here and add lots of value. This needs to be case by case.
