Should transgender women be allowed to compete in women’s sport?

Most UK governing bodies now bar transgender women from women’s competitive categories in sports such as football, cricket, tennis, table tennis and netball following the 2025 Supreme Court ruling that sex in the Equality Act means biological sex. Sport England and other councils are reviewing transgender inclusion guidance with a report expected later in 2027. The policy shift aims to protect fairness and safety where male puberty confers lasting physical advantages.

This is a ridiculous notion. The physical advantages are known. They can compete in the male category or start their own events and compete against each other. Women's sport is for women. Biological women.

This will be an unfair advantage forth because they are men physiologically.

Transwomen are biological men and Under the supreme court ruling men can’t enter women’s single sex sports and should not be participating in women’s sports. It has been proven that men are physically more stronger than women (even those taking female hormones) and have an unfair advantage over women. The majority of them win in the sports they participate in, denying women the right of winning.

Pretty much everything we know about trans healthcare in sport says that after about 2 years of HRT any advantage is completely gone. This is bourne out in the Olympics - only 1 trans woman has even even qualified and she came dead last in her event. Meanwhile, this kind of trans panic has directly affected cis female athletes e.g. Caster Semanya & Imane Khelif

People miss the point arguing trans athletes aren't winning everything or how they can be limited. The space was made for women to have representation and just making the Olympics is an honour for example. It takes space away from women ultimately. It should be as simple as competing in your biological sex.

No…if there is a valid reason for having separate men’s and women’s sports then that reason is why biological males should not compete against biological females, no matter how they identify their gender
