Should local councillors receive intensive training at the start of their tenure after being elected?

If you're handed legal responsibility over adult social care and public money, intensive training isn't 'overwhelming'.... it’s the bare minimum to prevent disastrous incompetence like we've seen across many councils.
Like every new employee in a new place of work. Why should we even ask?
Their role requires them to use common sense, plus listen to expert advice. An intensive indoctrination course is the last thing needed
