Voters here called it: 33 of 58 said yes, Russia is a paper tiger, against 25 no votes — a 14-point margin that counts as a win without being a rout. On a question this loaded, dividing a chamber roughly six-to-four is itself a kind of answer.
The generational pattern is the more telling thread. The 35-44 bracket ran hottest for the paper-tiger thesis, five yes to two no, while the youngest (16-24) and oldest (65+) cohorts each tied evenly at 2-2, and the 45-54 group split down the middle too. Confidence in Russian weakness, in other words, peaked in mid-career voters and evaporated at both ends of the age spectrum — a shape that doesn't map neatly onto any obvious ideological line.
Gender told a milder version of the same story: women leaned yes more firmly (7 of 11) than men, who were essentially split (20-18). Neither gap is huge, but both point the same direction, toward scepticism of Russian strength being the majority instinct without being anyone's consensus.
That the sturdiest Western read on the Kremlin — bluster over substance — only just cleared 57% here suggests the sanctions-and-attrition narrative has persuaded more than it's convinced.
