Should able-bodied migrants serve in the military during a wartime emergency?
The UK maintains a fully professional volunteer armed forces with no conscription since 1960. In a major wartime emergency the government could invoke royal prerogative powers to introduce conscription, but current policy excludes non-Commonwealth foreign nationals from joining and makes no provision for mandatory service by migrants or asylum seekers. Recent defence reviews focus on expanding reserves of former UK personnel and voluntary schemes rather than compulsory enlistment of civilians.

If you 'live here', it's reasonable to expect you to help 'protect here'. But that assumes right of residency in the first place. If you don't have that right, then you should not be expected to defend the country. In particular, illegal immigrants should not be conscripted: giving them training and access to weapons would be extremely dangerous.
Yes, in the event we find ourselves conscripting an army, all long-term non-enemy residents should face the same conscription rules, irrespective of nationality or gender.

If you want to live here, you need to take the stuff you like with the stuff you don't. The military has noncombat roles, so if you refuse to support the country you call home, off you go.
