Has King Charles granted corporate elites undue access by hosting AI bosses at Dumfries House?
King Charles is convening around 30 AI industry leaders including Nvidia's Jensen Huang and Google DeepMind's Demis Hassabis at Dumfries House in Ayrshire this month. The event is organised by the Ditchley Foundation with ministers also invited. A royal official says the King will listen and encourage debate without offering his own views, using his ability to bring stakeholders together on a major global issue.

The king has no real power, so this level of access from the corporate elite doesn't go anywhere towards changing government policy in their favour. Meanwhile, exercising this kind of soft power is the biggest reason to even have a monarchy and if it leads to even a little restraint on the excesses of the AI industry that's a good thing
If by the king allowing this it means AI is being monitored while being improved with safety factors then it should carry on. Hopefully it helps employment and the economy in a positive way.
This is the role of the Head of State. Bringing together interested groups for discussion, in meetings that are on the record and transparent, is his job.

He can't win, can he. People dont want him to do anything and then blame him for doing nothing.
No. He can gather them. He cannot pass a statute. Ministers in the room are the ones who owe the public an account. A King who listens is not a King who sold the policy. Attendance follows the Crown. That is not the same as the Crown taking the donation or writing the Act. Watch the government, not the guest list.
The King has no meaningful influence over government, and monarchs have always met influential business leaders.
The monarchy is totally at odds with democracy. The king should not meddle in anything, ever.
That's his exactly what his job is.
Ai is a thing that isnt going away only way to understand it is talking to those that make it. Only way to address the publics concerns is by talking to those making it.
