Should only British citizens be allowed to vote in UK general elections?
UK parliamentary general elections are currently open to British citizens, citizens of the Republic of Ireland, and qualifying Commonwealth citizens who are resident in the UK and aged 18 or over. British citizens living overseas can also register if they were previously resident or registered here. Qualifying Commonwealth citizens must have leave to remain or not require it. EU citizens from countries other than Ireland, Cyprus and Malta cannot vote in general elections.

The exceptions are quite limited.
'No taxation without representation' is the bedrock of democracy. If you pay in, you deserve a say.
Yes, voting is right and privilege of adult citizens . Also all candidates to parliament should be citizens too.
All long-term residents are subject to government policy and have a stake in our future. Anyone who has earned ILR should also have the vote.
The vast majority of nations only allow citizens to vote in national elections which is the common sense approach only those who are citizens should have the right to shape a country’s future
