Should the UK resume the refugee family reunion route?
The UK government suspended the refugee family reunion route last September. Over 16,000 refugees, including an estimated 9,273 children and 5,835 women, have been unable to apply to join family members granted refugee status in the UK. Other safe routes have seen arrivals fall by more than a third, with community sponsorship bringing only about 1,000 people over the last decade.
