Should Pride Month be cut back to a single Pride Day?

Pride Month is not a legal designation in the UK. It is an informal observance each June, and Pride events run from spring into September. Councils, businesses and government choose for themselves whether to mark it. Whitehall buildings are encouraged to fly the Pride flag around London Pride, but local authorities are not bound by flag instructions. In 2026, some Reform UK-led councils cancelled flag-raisings and cut Pride funding, MPs held a Commons debate on Pride Month on 4 June, and London Pride took place on 4 July.

Why is there a celebration of what anyone does in the bedroom. That should be a private matter. There is no discrimination against gays now. Time to put this pride nonsense in the bin!

1/12th of our lives is sanctimonious drivel. It's way too long and was granted at a time cancel culture was rampant. Also note this is on top of black history month and women history month. I don't have any problem with how someone lives their life, good luck to you, but I am tired of it being shoved in my face when I order a burger at Maccies. Edited

Pride used to be a good thing. Now it's been monopolised by the T and the Q to become a sorry shadow of deviants and maladjusteds. Most self-respecting homosexuals give it a wide berth.

One day for the LGB community should be enough. If one day is all the veterans get then why should any other group get a whole month.

Oh look, all the homophobes coming out to play. How predictable.

As someone in the LGBT community, I know Pride started as a riot against state oppression back when Polari was spoken. Today, a month-long festival does more harm than good. It erases our radical roots with 30 days of corporate pink washing all while officially documented hate crimes against us drastically increase. Cutting it to a single day of celebration stops big business from exploiting our identity so we can focus on actual, material change.

All month long celebrations, commemorations, tributes, etc, should be scrapped.

I'm fed up with their priapic interests being waggled in my face.
