Should the government investigate JD.com’s UK expansion over state subsidy concerns?

Chinese retailer JD.com has launched Joybuy in the UK and is expanding to challenge Amazon and other platforms. Labour has been urged to investigate after the European Commission opened an in-depth probe into JD.com’s proposed takeover of German retailer Ceconomy over alleged state subsidies. UK retailers continue to press the government on overseas ecommerce competition.
