Is Farage in deep trouble?

Voters here judged Farage to be in deep trouble, 44 to 33, but the aggregate hides a fight fought largely along age lines rather than gender ones. Men and women landed in almost the same place, both narrowly convinced of the "yes", which suggests the funding row is being read as a political story rather than a culture-war one.

The real fracture runs through the decades. Every voter over 65 said Farage was in trouble, and the 55-64s and 25-34s agreed by roughly two to one — an odd pincer of pensioners and younger professionals. But the 45-54 cohort, and to a lesser extent the youngest voters, pushed back hard, siding against the "deep trouble" framing by a similar margin.

That split echoes the wider puzzle around Reform's rise: a party whose polling numbers keep climbing even as its leader's conduct draws scrutiny, with older and younger critics more willing to punish alleged financial impropriety than the middle-aged voters who form the backbone of Farage's actual electoral coalition.

If Farage is in trouble, this chamber suggests it is the accusation itself doing the damage, not yet the demographic base that put him where he is.
