Should the national inquiry into grooming gangs be widened?
A statutory Independent Inquiry into Grooming Gangs began work in April 2026 following Baroness Louise Casey's 2025 national audit. It is examining institutional failures in protecting children from group-based child sexual exploitation across England and Wales, with initial local investigations in Oldham, Bradford, Keighley and London plus national accountability hearings scheduled for late 2026. Over 800 prior recommendations have been identified but implementation has been inconsistent.

The whole of the UK is affected by this gross despicable criminal action against mainly youg white British girls. Come on police forces ,stop looking at x or Facebook for easy targets and launch full criminal investigations against all involved. Doesn't matter where the evidence goes follow it,councillors, police inspectors, probation staff, care home staff and most of all the perpetrators.
Every crime should be punished
We already know what went wrong and what we need to prevent it happening again. More inquiries will only delay that action happening.
The wider the terms of an enquiry, the less likely that there will be sacking and jail. It becomes " institutional system failures white men do grooming too oh dear what a shame lessons learned moving on".
The inquiry should be ongoing and completely open about it's findings. I'm not saying name the MPs that are found to be involved but make it known that there are MPs on the list.
Use the money for these inquiries to develop better safe guarding we all know the issues get on and sort them.
This is a national scandal, made worse by repeated cover ups and 'long grass' actions. There should and must be a full inquiry and all the people responsible including in government, local authorities, social services and police need to be charged and prosecuted, punished and jailed.
Labour’s strategy to protect their Muslim voting block is to deny smear ignore obfuscate lie & then with bad grace blame victims & then try & change focus from Pakistani Rape Gangs to ‘Rape’ generally. The criminal complicity of its MPs, Ministers, Councillors, Police, Social Services is astounding. How can we expect a Political Party to honestly run UK if they explicitly cover up MILLIONS of rapes of young white children. I am sickened to the core - they should get the rope.
It has to be expanded because all involved need holding accountable otherwise then it is not full and true justice. And all the victims deserve to receive their own justice.
Every enquiry costs and the scope increase will add more time and probably come back with the same recommendations. Surely early implementation of the recommendations (if that ever happens) is the most important result here
