Is union activism sufficient experience to become a Bank of England director?
Chancellor John Healey appointed Paul Nowak, general secretary of the Trades Union Congress, as a non-executive director on the Bank of England's Court of Directors for a four-year term starting in 2026. Nowak began his career with part-time supermarket work at age 17 before rising through union ranks; predecessors like Frances O’Grady held similar roles on the Court. The appointment has drawn criticism over his lack of banking experience and recent calls for higher taxes on bank profits.

Labour's position of being massive in hock with the unions along with their donations (bribes) require a deep scrutiny.
Interested to see how many people will say no to this but haven't applied the same logic to other important positions in Westminster... and abroad. Just a mild curiosity.
