UK chief executives at large companies earn an average of 118 times the pay of a typical employee, according to the latest High Pay Centre analysis. Executive pay has risen sharply since the pandemic, with many FTSE 100 bosses receiving multimillion-pound packages while real wages for workers have grown more slowly. The gap has prompted renewed scrutiny from unions, investors and politicians over fairness and productivity.
