Is the UK too London-centric?
London accounts for around 13% of the UK population but generates over 20% of GDP and hosts most national media, financial services and political institutions. Successive governments have pursued devolution and levelling up programmes to shift power and investment northward, yet major decisions on transport, broadcasting and public spending remain concentrated in the capital.
