Should Reform UK expel the councillors filmed making racist remarks in ITV’s undercover investigation?
Reform UK can suspend or expel members under its own disciplinary process, and councillors who leave or are removed usually keep their seats as independents. After ITV Exposure broadcast its undercover film on 14 October 2026, several of the seven councillors featured left the party. Alan Feeney resigned his council seats, and Dean Miller and Raymond Dunning remain councillors as independents. Farage said the party vets more heavily than others but cannot vet against future comments, and Reform said it was investigating and that due process must be followed.

A few years ago, issues around immigration weren't part of mainstream politics and discussion. It's understandable that some vocabulary and styles of discussion would have lacked some of the professionalism expected in public life. Reform should raise standards to demonstrate that they take themselves seriously as a potential governing party.
If they want to retain any credibility, then yes. Not only the racist remarks but misogynistic/sexist ones as well. As for the one talking about his daughter and bath night. That sick individual needs his hard drive checking.
This so called investigation took almost a year and they found two people with although unsavoury opinions to some nevertheless their personal opinions. So does it mean everyone in Reform has the same opinion? If that is the case then the Labour councillor who wanted to slit peoples throat is voicing the thoughts of the current government. We still have freedom of speech allegedly so it's that two-tier too? Edited
If Reform want to be associated with, and not taking action against, councillors who make racist remarks that's their prerogative, is it not? There is obviously a reason that ITV clearly decided to vilify Reform knowing it would provoke a reaction... But let's not pretend that there aren't racist councillors across the board of policial parties
I would like ITV to conduct the same practices it did for Reform UK here on the other parties, I absolutely guarantee the same outcome.
Expulsion is a matter for the party and should be after due process. A blanket ban prior to seeing all the evidence (full documentary has not got aired) nor conducting an enquiry would be premature
Obviously it is for Reform to decide. For mainstream media and political mainstream opponents they always will be racists scum. From my perspective everyone is entitled to his/her opinion even if they seem unsavory for others. We cannot punish people for opinions, only for actions.
Why do they think it's acceptable to voice and believe such views. Racism should have no place in modern society. I wish we were better than this as a country and get rid of these idiots in reform who think they're untouchable..
The full documentary will be first shown on the 18th, and will likely contain further instances.
