Should the UK sign trade deals to open markets for British beef, lamb and dairy farmers?
The UK has signed a trade agreement with Switzerland granting improved access for British beef, lamb, dairy products, horticultural goods and sparkling wine. Switzerland is a small but high-value market where food prices are 73% higher than the EU average. The NFU welcomed the deal after years of lobbying, noting it provides the best access Switzerland has given any partner on fresh boneless beef and sparkling wine.

Trade deals are at the heart of a capitalist society, though we should take care not to undermine domestic production. No deals with China or India, for example.
