Is the Labour Party an antisemitic political party?
The Labour Party adopted the IHRA definition of antisemitism and overhauled its processes after the 2020 EHRC report found unlawful harassment of Jewish members under Jeremy Corbyn. Keir Starmer made tackling it a priority, expelling members and receiving credit for restoring credibility before resigning in June 2026. Andy Burnham became Prime Minister and Labour leader in July 2026; his government's settlement trade ban and criticism of Israel have drawn accusations from Jewish groups that the party has not fully distanced itself from positions that can foster antisemitism, while antisemitic incidents in Britain remain at record highs.

Depends on your definition of anti-Semitism. There's anti-Jew, which is a religion, or anti-Israel, which is a nation, with Netanyahu at it's head. For some it means both, for others it covers the whole area including Palestine. I see no antisemitism, only courage to stand up for Palestinians, people who live in Gaza, and the West Bank. People who want to get on with their lives.
Criticising a foreign government isn't racism, simple as that. Banning goods from settlements built illegally on stolen land isn't hating Jewish people, it's just following the rules. The Israeli government doesn't speak for every Jewish person. Tossing around accusations of antisemitism just because ministers finally had the backbone to stand up to illegal land grabs is a cheap smear to shut down debate
I think a lot of them are yes. The party has been pushing to ban Israel on a lot of things for ages. It finally seems to be going in that direction.
No, they just trying to be both pro Israel and pro Palestinian (or wider Islam), with pro-Islam giving them more votes at the moment. Which is impossible to achive but Doublethink remains strong in this lot.
Labour are just holding Israel to account and far more softly than they would have done for another state, e.g Libya or Iraq.
