Should MPs and Lords debate Parliament's £3bn refurbishment options by the end of 2026?

The Restoration and Renewal Client Board presented options for full refurbishment of the Palace of Westminster earlier in 2026, including a phased approach or decanting Parliament. Early works could begin in 2027 with a full decision by 2030. Delays in parliamentary debate have already increased costs and risk significant further challenges if no debate occurs by the end of 2026.
