Should MPs who change political parties be forced to trigger a by-election?
In the UK parliamentary system voters elect individual MPs who are not legally bound to their party. Several current Reform UK MPs were elected for other parties in 2024 without triggering by-elections. Public petitions and cross-party calls continue for legislation to force a by-election on any party change.

If you switch parties, your voters are owed a chance to vote. This isn't a left/right issue - it's an issue of integrity. Democracy means something, doesn't it?
