Should Notting Hill Carnival be banned after a record 560 arrests were made?
Notting Hill Carnival is Europe's largest street festival, celebrating Caribbean culture and attracting up to two million people over the August bank holiday. In 2025 it recorded 528 arrests over its two main days, mainly for drug offences, weapons possession, sexual offences and violence, with four non-life-threatening stabbings. For the 2026 60th anniversary, police deployed over 7,000 officers, banned more than 330 people from attending, and reported 243 arrests on the first day while praising the positive atmosphere.

No, I'm all for freedom of expression. Although it shouldn't be financed from taxpayer purse. All costs by public services should be repayed by organizers, sponsors.
