Should the DfE increase its higher-education spending by £230m to support university finances?

Education secretary Bridget Phillipson told the Education Committee on 17 June that the Department for Education will shortly announce plans to raise its spending for the current financial year. The increase of £230 million compared with the previous year is intended to support higher-education priorities and improve universities’ financial sustainability.
