Should Andy Burnham make a televised address to the nation about immigration?
Immigration remains the top issue for 42% of Britons in August 2026. Small boat arrivals are down but tensions flared with anti-migrant protests in southern ports over the weekend. Prime Minister Andy Burnham has backed stricter asylum and settlement rules while urging positivity to counter fear and division on the streets.

We have not really heard from him yet, as a nation. It would be interesting to hear his aims, find out, to a point, what he is really like. So we can form some sort of opinion about him and the Labour party with him as PM. Personally I would like to learn more about him, from him. Yes, let's hear him speak to the nation, please.
Actions speak louder than words.
A televised address on immigration is pure political theatre that just pours petrol on the fire. Staging one now just legitimises far right panic, and scapegoats migrants for decades of government failure.
No, no more lies. It is obvious that Labour will continue with demographic replacement politics, both legal and illegal. It would be waste of time, effort and money.
