Should the government spend £30m on a Farmer Collaboration Fund to promote peer learning and resilient farming?
Defra has announced a £30m Farmer Collaboration Fund opening for applications in September 2026. It will be delivered by charities, NGOs and local authorities to help farmers tackle shared challenges, reduce paperwork, cut costs, manage risks and improve soil health. The fund forms part of the government's 25-year Farming Roadmap to build resilience against extreme weather and climate change.
