Should Nigel Farage resign after "plotting to break law on foreign donations"?
A Channel 4 News investigation broadcast on 3 September 2026 shows undercover footage of Nigel Farage and Reform UK aides discussing and celebrating secret funding from a supposed US source for party polls and a potential £500,000 donation routed through a UK resident. UK law bans foreign donations to parties and requires declaration. Farage says 'it's all above board' and has repeatedly denied breaking rules amid prior scrutiny over undeclared gifts, triggering a by-election he won in 2026. A legal expert has called for a criminal investigation.

Ultimately, the people should and will judge him, not the press.
British democracy relies on a simple rule: electoral law applies to everyone. Under the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000, foreign funding is illegal. This investigation shows senior Reform UK figures discussing overseas money for polling strikes at the core of these safeguards. Leaders set the culture, and Mr Farage cannot claim ignorance while celebrating the outcome. Bypassing donation rules is a potential criminal breach, not an administrative error.
By the sounds of it, he wasn't " plotting to break the law", he was planning how to comply with the law. It's the difference between tax evasion and tax avoidance. If you don't like it, change the law on foreign donations. Which would be fine with me.
This won't be the last "sensational revelation " that will get the blood spitting for some, but for others it will just be proof that the establishment is running scared. All we need is Reform and Restore to unite. Come on Rupert, Nigel. Get together
He's not doing anything the rest arent. He was just dumb enough to get caught. This isnt a reason to abandon the right wing and let Labour / tories in again. Im more bothered about 3rd world migrants looting our economy and making our streets unsafe than a politician taking extra shekels.
More hypocritical smearing from feral left. The £Billions fed to Labour MPs & NGOs from likes of Sorus’s ‘Open Society’ - a misnomer if there ever was one - Bloomberg etc to corrupt UK is the real scandal. Farage asked for protection against Antifa violence & hard left. Starmer didn’t care reduced coverage as was relaxed about Farage being assaulted/murdered. The money was for protection not enrichment. We are now ruled by a hard left criminal cartel Internationally funded.
This programme was made by an extreme left climate change group with an agenda. Channel 4 is a disgrace these days!
Yes, but he won't, because, like Trump, he believes he's above the law.
It's easy for tv and media to do hit pieces on people. I'll wait until the investigation finds him guilty or innocent. I don't think media should act as judge, jury and executioner and we all just fall in line. It does seem weird that as soon as he started to win a ton of stuff all these claims were made against him but I also don't want to fall for the conspiracy that it's the establishment without facts so I will wait to see if any claims stick before passing judgement
YES & no YES he should (for the sake of Reform). Most decent politicians would but he won't. NO Hopefully he'll stay to try & bluff his way out of this again. Giving the parliamenty standards even more evidence to drum him out of politics. As for Reform followers? I suspect they do like the MAGA folk do (remember Trumps comment about shot someone on 5th Ave?) & pretend it's fake news or didn't happen
